Abigail and Sean had a beautiful wedding planned in Calgary for the summer of 2020. The venue was booked, the guest list was made and the countdown had begun... and then the pandemic hit. It was very important to Abigail and Sean to have the celebration they were dreaming of but they also knew that they didn't want to wait to officially become husband and wife. After much deliberation, they decided to elope to the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel with a close group of family and make it official. Abigail started the morning with a quite moment of reflection to read a letter Sean had written her and share an emotional first look with her father, The ceremony took place on the Fairmont's lower terrace overlooking the breathtaking rocky mountain range. Sean's mother is a retired florist and lovingly created Abby's bridal bouquet and the alter arrangement as a special personal touch for their ceremony. As they exchanged their hand written vows surrounded by the people that love them most in the world, the happiness and emotions flowed freely. Their family surprised them by blowing bubbles after their first kiss and it was so fun to watch the newly married couple explode with laughter and joy. After the ceremony the new family celebrated with a champagne toast and then we explored the grounds to capture some portraits before their private dinner reception. Although it was not what they had originally envisioned, Abigail and Sean did end up having the day they had always dreamed of. I can't wait to celebrate with them at their Calgary celebration this summer, what a wonderful day it will be!
